REAL WEDDING | Grosvenor House | Krishan & Lukshmiera | September 2017
Krishan Makwana and Lukshmiera Ramachandran,
30th September 2017
Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel
As Hindu devotees, it was important for Krishan and Lukshmiera to have the main traditional Sri Lankan wedding rituals incorporated into their ceremony. This was so that the newlyweds received godly, family and friends blessings for a lifetime of happiness in their journey together as a married couple.
The chosen venue for the couple had to be The Ballroom suite of Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel on Park Lane. When Krishan and Lukshmiera first visited the venue, they were absolutely blown away by its beautiful luxurious decor and the final decision was based on the hotel for its prestige, long establishments (since 1929) and the professionalism which they knew would meet every requirement to plan their perfect day.
With such large chandeliers, the couple wanted their guests to have an enchanting and memorable experience and went with a bespoke, elegant and regal decor for both the traditional ceremony and evening reception. The colours chosen were used throughout the day from the flowers, favours, statues, mandap, wedding cake, centrepieces, bar and dance floor. The traditional wedding incorporated red, ivory and gold and a royal blue, ivory and gold for the reception.
The reception was particularly grand as the theme incorporated a "Beauty and the Beast' theme as Krishan and Lukhmiera's epic love story had been released only a few months before their wedding day. The theme couldn't be any more perfect! The tables were named after the characters from the film and they even had the iconic enchanted blue rose in a glass dome placed on the top table.
As with any wedding, food is a very important part of the day. Guests whom attended the Hindu wedding ceremony were served a traditional and delicious Sri Lankan menu for lunch.

Krishan and Lukshmiera's experience with Ragamama Ragasaan.
"Ragamama coordinated and executed our wedding to perfection. We ran on time as per our scheduled itinerary which was important as we had a tight turnaround between the wedding and reception events and that was entirely down to them.
We chose Ragamama based on their well-deserved reputation in the wedding industry. We were blissfully unaware of any challenges faced which is exactly what we would expect on such an important day for us. If there were any then clearly Ragamama had them all in hand as the day to us ran smoothly.
We would like to thank all of our family and friends for sharing our special day, especially those that travelled from afar. We had such an enjoyable day, one we will never forget. Everything went off just as we had hoped and planned it would so thank you to everyone who helped make it so"
And finally, we know from over 20 years of planning extravagant weddings and events, we need to work alongside the wedding industries finest suppliers who go above and beyond in delivering a high-quality service.
